Dayton basketball: McKie fully healthy nine months after shoulder surgery

Dayton Flyers guard Jaron McKie says he’s fully healthy again nine months after left-shoulder surgery. The 6-foot-3 freshman, from St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, missed the 2025-26 season after shoulder pain first became an issue in high school. He played through it, but symptoms returned and worsened during his early time at Dayton, leading to an MRI and surgery in October. McKie spent part of the recovery period with his father, Aaron McKie, and credits teammates and staff for support. Coach Anthony Grant said his rehab was beginning after an Oct. 19 exhibition against Penn State.
