Denver Film Festival Unveils Lineup and Honorees
The 49th Denver Film Festival will run Oct. 22 to Nov. 1, with 129 features, documentaries and shorts screening across venues including the Sie FilmCenter, Ellie Caulkins Opera House, MCA Denver at the Holiday Theater and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. The festival opens with Peter Farrelly’s I Play Rocky starring Anthony Ippolito (as Sylvester Stallone) and closes with James Gray’s Paper Tiger featuring Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson and Miles Teller. Middle selections include Danny Boyle’s Ink and Tony Gilroy’s Behemoth!, among others. The program lists honorees and awards, including acting recognition for Carrie Coon, an Outlaw Award for John Cho, and a breakthrough director spotlight for Liz Sargent’s Take Me Home. Co-presentations with Sundance Film Festival include Josephine and Take Me Home, and international films like Netflix’s La Bola Negra and Cannes winner Minotaur are also scheduled.
