Dreams from the 2026 World Cup' celebrates culture and unity

Photographer Gabe Nava’s solo gallery show, “¿Y SI SÍ? Dreams from the 2026 World Cup,” opened Thursday night at UN-OTHER in Los Angeles’ Koreatown, turning his Mexico City World Cup coverage into a celebration of Latino culture and unity. Shot during the FIFA World Cup, the images now serve as a “time machine” back to the short weeks of summer, when fans were reminded it’s okay to dream big. Nava, who curated the exhibit with artists Manny Martinez and Gabriel Medina of Mano Pesada Productions, said the work focuses on Mexico’s impact and the spirit of overcoming obstacles. The night included Latin music, including Chalino Sánchez’s “Alma Enamorada.”
