DroneShield Expands Urban Airspace Security Capabilities Ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026 | iTWire
DroneShield is expanding its urban airspace security ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 with a regional, multi-site deployment across the Kansas City metro area. The initiative is led by the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) with Airspace Link’s AirHub® Portal, alongside regional public safety partners. It combines operational airspace coordination, distributed radar coverage, radio frequency (RF) drone detection, and integrated situational awareness to support multiple jurisdictions during the tournament. DroneShield will serve as the primary detection and threat response layer, using RF sensing, sensor fusion, coordination workflows, and counter-UAS capabilities. The layered approach is designed for dense urban environments where authorized flights, public safety aviation, media operations, and potential unauthorized drone activity may occur simultaneously.
