Elections live updates: Trump speaks at D.C. Reflecting Pool, Michigan endorsement rift and more from the campaign trail
Early voting ended in New York with both parties scrambling for late support ahead of Tuesday’s election. Gov. Kathy Hochul campaigned in New York City, a region that typically votes Democratic, while Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman traveled to places including Nassau County, Suffolk County, Rensselaer County, and Oswego County. The New York City Board of Elections reported an unofficial 690,526 ballots cast in the city, while the state said more than 1.7 million voted early statewide. President Donald Trump said in an interview with Miranda Devine’s Pod Force One that he’s “never worked the midterms” like this one. He also said he would become “Mr. Veto” if Democrats control Congress but likely would cut deals. In Michigan, Democrat Abdul El-Sayed said his campaign raised over $2.4 million Sunday after Rep. Haley Stevens endorsed Republican Mike Rogers, drawing sharp criticism from Democrats.
