Fans file lawsuit against StubHub over World Cup ticket cancellations
StubHub is facing a lawsuit over World Cup 2026 ticket cancellations, with fans alleging the platform failed to deliver the expensive matches tickets they bought on the secondary market. Reuters reported that a proposed class action was filed June 30 in Manhattan federal court. The complaint seeks unspecified damages of about $5 million for thousands of customers in the United States who say they never received their World Cup tickets. Plaintiffs accuse StubHub of violating consumer protection and false advertising laws. StubHub said it would not comment on the pending litigation but stated it offers refunds or replacement tickets through its FanProtect Guarantee. The company also pointed to problems in the event organizer’s ticketing infrastructure, while FIFA urged fans to use its official resale platform.
