Fifa accuses Uefa of 'misinformation campaign'

FIFA has accused UEFA of running a “misinformation campaign” aimed at shaping the outcome of FIFA presidential elections, according to new court documents filed in the United States. UEFA previously sought disclosure from FIFA in the Southern District of Florida, warning it could escalate the matter to a Swiss criminal complaint. UEFA’s challenge centers on FIFA’s shelved Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal, and it accused FIFA president Gianni Infantino of “criminal mismanagement” and pushing a “fraudulently off-market” price for personal gain. FIFA responded on Monday night, calling UEFA’s claims “false or misleading,” arguing Infantino’s alleged wrongdoing lacks merit, and describing the filing as excessively broad.
