FWP announces Freeman as new comm director for Region 1

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) has named Malia Freeman as the new communication and education program manager for Region 1 in northwest Montana, based in Kalispell. Freeman will oversee public information efforts, media relations, and education programs aimed at helping local communities understand FWP’s mission, recreation opportunities, and wildlife-related issues. She is from the Flathead Valley and earned a Bachelor of Science in 2018. In 2023, she completed both a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Public Health from the University of Montana. Freeman joins FWP from the Flathead City-County Health Department, where she spent six years as a public information officer and population health supervisor.
