Georgia's U.S. Senate showdown: Ossoff and Collins lay out visions for 2026
Georgia voters will choose between incumbent Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff and Republican challenger Mike Collins in the Nov. 3 midterm election. The race will decide who represents the state in Washington for a six-year term, including votes on federal laws, budgets, and confirmations of judges and top officials. Ossoff, elected in 2021 and Georgia’s first Jewish U.S. senator, outlines priorities ranging from lowering prescription drug costs and expanding healthcare access to investing in roads, ports, airports, water systems, transit, and clean energy. He also emphasizes support for Georgia farmers, public safety and border security, and investigations tied to foster care and prison conditions. Collins, in Congress since 2023, highlights his business background and conservative “America First” approach.
