Gibraltar compete at IBF World Cup in Munich

Gibraltar was represented by a four-man team at the 2026 IBF World Cup in Munich earlier this month. Anthony Galea, Jamie Hickey, Michael Wood and Dion Webber competed in the men’s singles event, while Gibraltar did not field a women’s team. The tournament featured 44 federations in the men’s division and 26 in the women’s, with 176 men and 104 women competing. In Round One, Hickey posted the best result for Gibraltar, finishing 10th in a pool of 12; Galea placed 11th in his pool, with Wood and Webber also competing in their groups. After finishing 47th overall with eight wins, one tie and 35 defeats, Gibraltar went into Group B in Round Two and ended 12th with 11 matches and no wins. The final was between Australia and France, with France winning 2-1 after a 204-163 deciding game.
