Glenville, University School and Salem football playoff limbo ends

The dispute over Glenville’s eligibility for Ohio high school football playoffs appears to be nearing resolution after an OHSAA appeal was paused. On Nov. 4, the Ohio High School Athletic Association filed an appeal seeking to stop a court order that allowed Glenville to participate in the Division III playoffs. The move came after OHSAA had banned the 2025 Division IV state champions from the 2026 postseason, a decision previously overturned by courts. On Nov. 5, the Eighth District Court of Appeals granted an emergency stay, putting the original sanction back in effect. The playoff bracket now shows Salem as the fourth seed facing University School, the 12th seed, at 7 p.m. Friday in Region 9.
