Gone By January: Delta Quietly Trims 5,095-Mile Longest Domestic Route In The US

Delta Air Lines has cut short its seasonal Boston Logan (BOS) to Honolulu (HNL) route that was expected to run from mid-December until the end of March 2027. According to reporting that tracked Delta’s booking portal, sales can no longer be made after January 3, trimming the 5,095-mile trip by nearly 90%. The carrier’s BOS-HNL service, built on competition with Hawaiian Airlines, has used widebody aircraft reportedly including the Airbus A330. With the early end, Delta passengers may have fewer nonstop options and could shift to older Boeing 767 service from other hubs. Delta didn’t formally announce the change.
