Here is when traffic will be the worst for Labor Day weekend travel

The Washington State Department of Transportation has released a Labor Day travel-time forecast, highlighting when roads from Seattle are likely to be most congested on Interstate 5 and Interstate 90, plus Highway 2 and I-5 routes toward Canada. Southbound on I-5 from Tacoma to Lacey, traffic is expected to be heaviest Friday from about 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., then Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday’s return is worst 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastbound on I-90 from North Bend to Cle Elum is comparatively easier, with the heaviest window Friday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Other segments include Highway 2 eastbound and I-5 northbound to the Canadian border.
