Hirving Lozano returns for Mexico: When did he last play for El Tri?

Rafael Márquez has announced his first Mexico roster in a new era as he builds toward the 2030 World Cup, with several notable surprises for friendlies in late September and early October in the United States. While many 2026 World Cup players return, Márquez also calls up new faces for matches versus Colombia, Peru, the United States and Chile. Hirving Lozano is among the highlights: after being frozen out by San Diego FC at the end of 2025 and missing the recent World Cup, he returns following a loan move to LA Galaxy and could play for El Tri for the first time since Nov. 15, 2025. The squad was also shaped by injuries for Julián Quiñones and Raúl Jiménez.
