Hong says she doesn't know what's next for her
Six months after mounting what was seen as a promising Democratic run for Wisconsin governor, Francesca Hong told students at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, that she does not know what comes next. Invited by students for a campus appearance, Hong spoke ahead of Election Day, where she was once considered a contender for the Democratic nomination. She rejected speculation about running for U.S. Senate in 2028, mayor of Madison, or another office, saying she is focused on supporting Democrats in Wisconsin and “will not be running for mayor of Madison.” Hong gained national attention during her grassroots campaign, which nearly won until Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley surged late and faces Republican Tom Tiffany. She endorsed Crowley after the primary and planned to return to campaigning after her East Coast trip.
