Iceberg lettuce recalled in 27 states due to potential cyclospora contamination | CNN
Taylor Farms is recalling shredded iceberg lettuce shipped to 27 U.S. states due to potential cyclospora contamination. The company said it is “actively removing” the product, has suspended distribution of iceberg lettuce from Central Mexico to the United States, and is no longer receiving from the implicated lot. Consumers who bought the recalled lettuce are told to discard it immediately and not consume it. Distribution dates run from June 29 through July 16 across states including Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin, among others. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says no Taylor Farms-branded salads or kits are associated with the outbreak and that no kits containing iceberg lettuce are involved. Health officials linked a Midwest outbreak to lettuce served at some Taco Bell restaurants, which said it removed the lettuce from restaurants and its nationwide supply chain. CDC data cited nearly 7,000 cases confirmed or under investigation in 34 states since May 1.
