James C. Phelan Obituary | 1953 - 2026 | The Eagle Tribune

James C. Phelan, 73, of Peachtree City, Georgia, died peacefully with his family by his side on August 22, 2026. Born April 19, 1953 in Newburyport, Massachusetts, he was the middle child of Patrick and Marilyn (Monegan) Phelan, and graduated from Newburyport High School in 1972. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University and worked throughout his career in banking and finance. Phelan married Cynthia “Cindy” for 47 years, living in Hampstead, New Hampshire, where he supported the Hampstead Civic Club and volunteered as a soccer coach for both boys’ and girls’ teams. He later moved to Peachtree City to be near his daughter. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to Dr. Dickinson’s Dementia Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Frontotemporal Disorders Unit.
