Kentwood, Michigan, is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on its City Commission after Commissioner Robert Coughlin retired this week. Coughlin’s retirement, effective Oct. 15, leaves a vacant Ward 1 seat on the seven-member governing body. The appointed replacement will serve out the remainder of Coughlin’s term through the end of 2027. The city will accept applications from eligible Ward 1 residents who have lived in Kentwood for at least one year, are registered voters in good standing, and are not felons.
