Kyle Busch's 11-year-old son does burnouts at Charlotte memorial event
Brexton Busch honored his late father Kyle Busch during a celebration of life at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday. Driving the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, the 11-year-old waved in front of 10,000-plus fans and performed burnouts until the rear tires went flat. He then climbed onto the car’s roof to acknowledge the crowd, with his 4-year-old sister Lennix presenting a checkered flag that he later waved as a bow—echoing Kyle Busch’s signature victory celebration. The event included remarks from Kyle’s brother Kurt, team owner Joe Gibbs, drivers such as Austin Dillon and Kyle Larson, and concluded with Samantha Busch. Kyle died unexpectedly on May 21 at 41 due to complications from severe bacterial pneumonia and sepsis. Busch won NASCAR Cup championships in 2015 and 2019, totaling 234 NASCAR top-three series wins, including 63 Cup victories, an all-time record. RCR has paused the No. 8’s use, reserving it for Brexton when he’s ready to race.
