Leighton Wass, Outdoors contributor

Leighton Wass, an outdoors contributor, grew up in Southwest Harbor and earned a B.S. in science education from Norwich University. After graduation, he taught high school biology in Vermont for 33 years, later working as a freelance writer. Now 80, Wass continues to treat the outdoors as his daily arena while living in Adamant, Vermont, with his wife Jane and two Labradors.
