Major US airports with the most departure delays, ranked

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) has ranked 30 major U.S. airports by on-time departure performance, using data for January through June 2026. A flight counts as on time if it leaves the gate less than 15 minutes after its scheduled time. The ranking reflects weather-related variability too—hurricanes in Florida, snowstorms across New England, and high temperatures in Arizona can affect reliability. Salt Lake City topped the list at 83.73% on-time departures, with 121,882 scheduled flights (June 2025–May 2026) led by Delta. Washington Dulles followed at 82.20%, led by United.
