Marks 25 years since 9/11 attacks

Americans marked the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on Friday, staging memorial rituals including wreath-laying, flags, moments of silence, vigils and readings of victims’ names, along with volunteer projects in tribute. Nearly 3,000 people died when al-Qaida hijacked four commercial jets and crashed them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Trump attended an observance at the Pentagon, while former presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Joe Biden joined current Vice President JD Vance at the National Sept. 11 Memorial in New York. The anniversary also featured remarks at the Flight 93 memorial in Pennsylvania.
