Matt Gaetz sued on Florida sex trafficking claims. See allegations
Former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz is facing a new 38-page civil lawsuit filed Oct. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, alleging he participated in a sex trafficking scheme between 2017 and 2019. Two women identified as Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2 claim Gaetz, 44, and two co-conspirators coerced them into sex trafficking and provided drugs, trips, and money, arranging encounters across Florida and other states. The complaint names former Seminole County Tax Collector Joel Greenberg, who pleaded guilty in 2021 and is serving an 11-year federal prison sentence, and former Florida state Rep. Christopher Dorworth. Gaetz denied the allegations, saying the lawsuit relies largely on a Congressional Committee Report and that he looks forward to depositions.
