Morocco and Spain are locked in a public fight over hosting the 2030 World Cup final, with FIFA yet to confirm which country will stage the tournament’s biggest match. The debate is taking place as FIFA chief Gianni Infantino remains under pressure and after Spain won the 2026 World Cup. The conflict also coincides with Spain dealing with a major migrant border crossing in late July, when tens of thousands pushed from Morocco into Spain’s north African enclave. Morocco’s federation president Fouzi Lakjaa said the final will be in Benslimane at the Hassan II stadium, planned for 115,000 seats. Spain’s federation head Rafael Louzán argued the final should be in Spain, citing world champion status, while noting the venue is not fully confirmed. FIFA said it will decide “in due course.”
