Moses Itauma vs Filip Hrgovic: Winner will be crowned IBF world champion

Moses Itauma will face Filip Hrgovic on 29 August, with the vacant IBF heavyweight title at stake at London’s O2 Arena. The belt became vacant when Oleksandr Usyk relinquished it in June. Itauma, 21, is being promoted as a heavyweight prospect after 14 professional wins with 12 knockouts. Promoter Frank Warren, speaking to BBC Sport, said Queensberry has backed Itauma since his amateur days and called the fight a major milestone. Initially, Itauma was set to negotiate with Cuban Frank Sanchez, but Sanchez agreed to step aside and instead fight the winner of Itauma-Hrgovic. Hrgovic, 34 and a 2016 Olympic bronze medallist, has won 20 pro bouts, with a recent third-round stoppage of Dave Allen.
