NASA Brings Space Exploration To FIFA World Cup

From June 11 through July 19, NASA’s free interactive exhibit at the FIFA Fan Festival™ in East Downtown Houston brought space exploration to World Cup crowds. More than 500,000 visitors toured the display during the tournament and learned how NASA missions, research, and technology apply to life on Earth. The experience highlighted the Artemis program, Moon Base concepts, the International Space Station, and future human exploration. Fans had hands-on access to an Orion spacecraft exhibit, an ISS model, an Orion Crew Survival System suit, astromaterials, Hubble imagery, and a space-flown World Cup soccer ball. Attendees also drove a lunar rover simulator and explored Artemis-focused lunar tools. NASA linked the science of motion to soccer via a STEMonstration developed with Adidas, filmed aboard the space station.
