New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani posted a cryptic “114” on X on Friday, Sept. 25, a message that many interpreted as a jab at Manchester City. The Athletic reported City was found guilty on 114 of 115 charges tied to breaches of Premier League financial regulations, first charged in 2023. Mamdani is a longtime Arsenal supporter, with Arsenal the rival club. Arsenal won the Premier League in May for its first title in 22 years. City, led by Erling Haaland, is currently first in the EPL with a 5-0-0 record, and it denies wrongdoing while expected to appeal.
