Spain’s young star Lamine Yamal has set his sights on the FIFA World Cup 2026 final after La Roja defeated France 2-0 in the semi-finals on July 15. Taking to social media, the teenage sensation posted that Spain is ready for the title clash in New York, using an Instagram caption translating to “New York, we’re coming for you.” Yamal, 19, started at AT&T Stadium in Arlington alongside Pau Cubarsí, marking the first time two teenagers started for the same team in a World Cup semi-final. Mikel Oyarzabal scored the opening penalty in the 22nd minute after Yamal won possession and was fouled inside the area. Pedro Porro and Dani Olmo combined for Spain’s second, while France managed limited threats. Spain will face the winner of England vs. Argentina, scheduled in Atlanta.
