Tri-Cities Four-Ball tournament returns to Pine Oaks with record field
The Tri-Cities Four-Ball Tournament returns to Pine Oaks Golf Course in Johnson City, Tennessee, this weekend, highlighting growth and a record field. Now in its third year, the two-day event teed off Saturday in partnership with the Tennessee Golf Foundation and features 50 two-man teams, totaling 100 players competing for the title. The field is the largest in the tournament's three-year history, surpassing roughly 36-38 teams in year one and 44-46 last year. Pine Oaks staff prepared the course for optimal playing conditions, setting the stage for competitive golf and local fundraising.
Beyond competition, proceeds from the event benefit golf programs throughout the Tri-Cities, with funds directed to junior golf initiatives and PGA HOPE, a program that introduces golf to military veterans and active-duty service members. Bryan Bentley, Pine Oaks golf manager, said the money stays in the community, noting the weekend's emphasis on accessibility and development. Champions of the 2026 Tri-Cities Four-Ball Tournament will be crowned after the final round on Sunday, reflecting a growing field and the organizers' commitment to expanding golf opportunities in the region.
