Chime pushes Trump Accounts with financial education series

Chime and Invest America launched the Compound Combine financial-education series in Jersey City to promote the forthcoming Trump Accounts, an IRA-like savings program for children opening July 4. With support from the Treasury Department and players from the Giants and Jets, Trump Accounts allow accounts for U.S. citizens under 18 with a valid SSN, with up to $5,000 per year from parents or third parties and a $1,000 government contribution for children born 2025–2028. Robinhood and BNY Mellon will handle the rollout; Chime facilitates enrollment and reports 130,000 members registered. The next combine will be in Washington, D.C., on the National Mall, to celebrate the 250th anniversary.
