Nix says Broncos 'absolutely' let down play-caller Davis Webb

Bo Nix said Denver’s offense “absolutely” let new play-caller Davis Webb down after the Broncos lost 31-10 at Kansas City on Monday night in Webb’s first regular-season game as offensive coordinator. Nix said players didn’t make it easy and that the team didn’t execute despite calling exactly what it prepared. He finished 17 of 28 for 131 yards with a touchdown and an interception, plus a lost fumble, and was sacked four times. The Broncos rushed for only 61 yards. Tight end Evan Engram added that Kansas City “punched us in the mouth.” Coach Sean Payton acknowledged frustration but said feelings wouldn’t differ whether he or Webb called plays.
