Norfolk: Bus users fear impact of roadworks on village
Norfolk bus users fear that roadworks tied to the A47 dualling project will severely disrupt village transport links, affecting trips to work and school. First Bus said the Norwich-bound service would be impacted from 1 July, with both directions affected from 1 August for the duration of the works. The company cited its inability to navigate the diversion, expected to last until Spring 2027, and said it is reviewing alternative diversion options with its planning and network teams. Easton residents including Lucie Oakes and Charli McClean said services would become less frequent and may force earlier departures, leading to long waits at Norwich schools. Norfolk County Council said First Bus pass holders can use Konectbus route 4 during suspensions.
