Operation KOSAYE: Police charge 76 suspects to court for prostitution, robbery, others in Ogun
Operation KOSAYE: Police charge 76 suspects to court for prostitution, robbery, others in Ogun highlights a major crackdown by Ogun State Police Command on alleged criminal activity. Police said it has charged at least 76 suspects arrested during raids and bush-combing under the code-named operation, which translates to “No space” or “No chance.” The initiative, linked to Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu, targets criminal elements across Lagos and Ogun while easing public fears over banditry. In June, 84 suspects were arrested during a joint operation across Ogun, Lagos, and toward Oyo’s boundary. On July 7 at about 11:00 p.m., police arrested 43 more suspects in Ogun, bringing the total charged to 76. DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi said the suspects were remanded appropriately after investigation. Prosecuted offences include prostitution, robbery, unlawful societies, and suspected cannabis possession. All defendants pleaded not guilty.
