Poll shows BC NDP trailing in home stretch of provincial election
xCruzo Brief
With Election Day approaching in British Columbia, new polling suggests the BC Conservatives have held a roughly six-point advantage over the BC NDP in the campaign’s final stretch, leaving David Eby unable to close the gap. Mainstreet Research senior analyst Robert Martin said Eby is “running out of runway,” particularly given how the NDP leader has faced frequent media scrutiny while interim Conservative leader Lorne Doerkson has skipped some opportunities to answer questions. Eby criticized Doerkson’s use of private donor events and absence from debates and follow-ups. Martin added last week’s debate didn’t visibly shift numbers, though the Greens gained momentum. About 10% of voters remain undecided.
