Portland Marathon will shut down city streets Sunday morning
The 2026 Portland Marathon will close selected city streets Sunday morning across several quadrants, including downtown, Northwest, Southwest, South, Southeast and Northeast, as nearly 12,000 runners move through neighborhoods on a course that includes the 26.2-mile race plus half-marathon and 10K events. The half-marathon starts at 7:00 a.m.; the marathon and 10K begin at 7:15 a.m., and organizers warn some streets may shut down before that. The marathon ends at 1:45 p.m., though certain roads could remain closed longer for cleanup and teardown. Organizers say drivers generally won’t be able to drive on or cross race streets until the last runner passes and traffic control devices are removed. TriMet has posted planned delays and canceled service for MAX trains or buses, and “No Parking” signs will be posted from 2 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday along the route.
