Public can tour city of Vancouver's new homeless shelter

The City of Vancouver will hold a public open house for a new 120-bed homeless shelter at 5333 N.E. 94th Ave. The event is planned for Wednesday, ahead of the facility’s expected late-November opening. City officials say the shelter will be known as the Bridge Shelter, designed to provide a “bridge” to permanent housing. Beyond offering beds, the program will include day-to-day resident support such as case management, meals, and hygiene services. The open house is intended to let community members tour the facility and understand how the services are set up.
