Rail closure set to disrupt Radio 2 festival was planned before date switch
xCruzo Brief
Network Rail says engineering work likely to disrupt travel to BBC Radio 2 in the Park was scheduled before the festival was moved from August to September. Direct trains between Edinburgh and Stirling and Dunblane will be cancelled on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September, overlapping with the event at Stirling’s City Park. The festival was initially set for 7 to 9 August, but was shifted to 11 to 13 September after discussions about effects on other Scottish events. Network Rail Scotland advises passengers to change at Croy or Glasgow Queen Street. ScotRail also warned Edinburgh to Inverness services will be diverted via Fife and won’t stop at Stirling or Gleneagles, with buses replacing some routes.
