Richard Littlejohn: US Bar Voters Say Trump Is Finished

Richard Littlejohn reflects on US Bar politics through conversations at Bobby’s, a storied sports bar in a pioneering American town where open debate about politics and religion is discouraged. While the crowd spans retired, self-made billionaires to a local tennis coach, a sense of unease is emerging even in what he describes as sophisticated MAGA territory. He cites Dottie, a retired nun who remains loyal, but notes a growing murmur about whether Donald Trump is losing his grip as he gets older, drawing comparisons to late-era Joe Biden. Littlejohn also points to the war’s wider consequences, suggesting they are more damaging than earlier moments of celebration.
