Say goodbye to Lloyd Center at these final events
xCruzo Brief
Portland’s Lloyd Center will mark its final weekend with several closing events, as the mall’s role in local life fades despite reduced business in recent years. Organizers say the last “Food Court 5000” mall-walking session starts at 11 a.m. Saturday in the food court, paired with Heart Beat Silent Disco to hand out wireless headphones for a final group stroll. A “celebration of life” bike ride begins at Holladay Park at 1:30 p.m. and ends at the mall’s ice rink. Skaters will also hold a last skate with Jerry and Tally Leonard at 6:45 p.m., including a chance to leave goodbye messages on the ice or a commemorative banner. Lloyd Center officials say it is not a going-out-of-business sale.
