Second technical issue in 2 weeks afflicts UK's air traffic controller, prompting more travel chaos

A technical problem at the U.K.’s national air traffic controller, NATS, disrupted travel again on Monday, the second issue in two weeks. NATS, whose Prestwick center is in Scotland, said the fault has been fixed, but delays and cancellations are expected to continue at least through the day. Flights in and out of Scotland, Northern Ireland and the north of England were canceled or delayed, and NATS said it is working with airports and airlines to lift traffic restrictions safely. Cirium reported at least 200 canceled flights so far. The disruption was not linked to the software glitch that led to more than 2,000 cancellations two weeks earlier, and airlines including Ryanair and EasyJet criticized NATS’ reliability.
