Singapore issues more haze notices | Arkansas Democrat Gazette
Singapore’s National Environment Agency said Monday it will issue preventive notices to three additional Indonesian companies in Kalimantan after smoke from fires there may have spread into the city-state. The move brings the total number of Indonesian firms targeted under Singapore’s Transboundary Haze Pollution Act to 10. The agency said it sent preventive measure notices last Friday to seven agroforestry companies tied to fires in Sumatra. Since then, it reported indications that smoke from fires in Kalimantan on land held under concessions by three more companies could also have reached Singapore. The notices direct PT Buana Megatama Jaya, PT Mananjung Hayak, and PT Baratama Putra Perkasa to deploy firefighting personnel, halt burning and submit action plans, without confirming legal responsibility.
