Singapore issues more haze notices | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
Singapore’s National Environment Agency said Monday it will issue preventive notices to three additional Indonesian companies in Kalimantan after smoke from local fires may have crossed the border. The notices, issued under Singapore’s Transboundary Haze Pollution Act, raise the number of targeted Indonesian firms to 10. The agency previously sent preventive measure notices last Friday to seven agroforestry companies linked to fires in Sumatra. The new notices require PT Buana Megatama Jaya, PT Mananjung Hayak and PT Baratama Putra Perkasa to deploy firefighting personnel, stop burning, avoid new fires, and submit action plans. The notices do not confirm legal responsibility, but allow prosecution and financial penalties if legal criteria are met.
