SkyCity responds to airlines' concerns over airport project

SkyCity’s developer is pushing back on airlines that have raised concerns about a proposed airport redevelopment in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Steve Nackan, executive vice president and president of Aecon Concessions—one of the companies behind the SkyCity plan—said in a Thursday statement that airlines’ call for a smaller alternative risks swapping a developed project for one with uncertain cost, scope, and schedule. Nackan acknowledged the airlines’ questions about long-term costs and air service but argued their counterproposal is less detailed than the SkyCity program.
