Source Reveals PGA Tour May Consider Changing DP World Tour Alliance After European League Suffered $85M Loss
xCruzo Brief
A report cited by Money in Sport suggests the PGA Tour may rethink elements of its alliance with the DP World Tour after European Tour finances deteriorated. The PGA Tour bought a 15% stake in European Tour Productions in the November 2020 partnership, then expanded into a 13-year joint venture through 2035 that could raise PGA Tour ownership to 40%. Between 2023 and 2025, the PGA Tour paid about £100 million via the Annual Investment Payment (AIP). Yet the European Tour’s 2025 results showed a turnover down 2.5% and an operating loss of about £64.5 million (around $85 million) before the AIP, which it says covered roughly 91% of that deficit.
