Stuff the Bus' collects school supplies for students in Washington County

Stuff the Bus’ collects school supplies for students in Washington County through a United Way of Washington County-East campaign aimed at packing 1,000 backpacks in the coming weeks. The effort is designed to ensure students in the Stillwater Area Public Schools district have the materials needed to begin the school year ready to learn. Families may register online through July 23, with a form available in English, Spanish and Hmong. The registration requests the child’s school and grade and asks for a favorite color, character, action figure or animal to personalize the backpack. Proof of address is required and must be dated within 60 days. Backpack pickup is scheduled for Aug. 5–7 at Oak Park Learning Center in Stillwater, with times varying, and from 5 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 6 at Brookview Elementary in Woodbury. Donations are accepted through July 24 at multiple district sites, and volunteers are needed to sort and pack.
