Teen pleads guilty in Georgia high school shooting that killed four

A teenager charged in the 2024 shooting at Apalachee High School in northeast Georgia has pleaded guilty to all charges. In Winder, Georgia, 16-year-old Colt Gray entered guilty pleas Friday to 55 counts without a plea agreement with prosecutors, meaning sentencing will be determined by Barrow County Superior Court Judge Nicholas Primm. The Sept. 4, 2024 attack killed two students and two teachers, and injured several others. Prosecutors said the assault-style rifle used in the attack was provided by Gray’s father, Colin Gray, who was earlier convicted in a separate case on charges including second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter; Colin Gray is scheduled to be sentenced next week. The court will hear arguments, recommendations, testimony, and evidence before deciding Gray’s punishment, with prosecutors planning to present victims and witness testimony, surveillance video, photographs, 911 calls, and records.
