Residents in Bay City, Michigan, are being reminded of earlier local rumors about “Mr. T” as Netflix releases “Untold: Mr. T: I Pity the Fool,” a 50-minute documentary. The film, available this week, traces how Laurence Tureaud rose to fame in the 1980s, including through TV, movies, and even a cereal. In 2003, The Bay City Times ran a headline saying the Center Avenue mansion was sold—but not to Mr. T—after attorney Elizabeth Peters bought the Frederick W. Bradley House. Records show Peters purchased it in May 2003 for $508,500. Mr. T later visited Bay City in 1993 to promote Art Dore’s Toughman boxing contest.
