The Costa Blanca town throwing a four-day festival with a World Cup finale watch party
The Costa Blanca town is set to host a four-day celebration anchored on a World Cup finale watch party, as Calpe marks the annual Festes en Honor a la Mare de Déu del Carme (Virgen del Carmen). Scheduled for July 16–19, 2026, the festival blends maritime tradition with music and community events tied to the patron of sailors and fishermen. It begins on Thursday with gatherings of local authorities and the Familia Marinera at Plaça dels Mariners, followed by a Holy Mass with the Coral Ifach. The evening procession starts at 8:00pm, culminating in floral offerings and a maritime march, then fireworks and live music by Orquesta La Trampa. On Sunday, July 19 at 9:00pm, a giant outdoor screen will broadcast the FIFA World Cup 2026 final for residents.
