Tokyo Film Festival Sets 'Sukiyaki', 'Colony' & 'Godzilla Minus Zero'

The Tokyo Film Festival unveiled early programming for its 2026 edition: Zeze Takahisa’s “Sukiyaki” will open on Oct. 26, while Yeon Sang-ho’s “Colony” will close the event. “Godzilla Minus Zero” is named the festival’s Centerpiece film. “Sukiyaki,” a music-themed entertainment, is scheduled for Japanese release by Toho on Dec. 25, 2026, starring Okada Junichi, Matsuzaka Tori and Nakano Taiga. “Colony” follows its Cannes world premiere and will play as the closing film. “Godzilla Minus Zero,” directed by Yamazaki Takashi, reaches Japanese theaters on Nov. 3, also via Toho, and is the first Japanese production filmed for Imax.
