Top adviser to Kennedy resigns from Trump administration
Calley Means, a senior adviser to Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and a central figure behind the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) agenda, resigned from the Trump administration, he confirmed to NBC News on Thursday. In his statement, Means cited frustration that he could not make progress on his policy goals and argued that Washington’s bureaucracy protects the status quo. He previously served as an adviser on Kennedy’s 2024 campaign and joined the White House early last year, later becoming a senior adviser at Health and Human Services after divesting from his wellness company, Truemed. A source said the final trigger was the continued delay in issuing a federal definition of ultra-processed foods. The source also pointed to EPA actions, including weakened mercury emissions standards and rolled back PFAS limits, that conflict with Kennedy’s agenda.
